| Duties: | • This position involves a variety of responsibilities like customer support/application (50%), product support (25%), and new product development support (25%). He/She will interface with the Sales and Marketing Groups and Supply Chain groups on a regular basis.
• Provide correct and timely answers on a daily basis to the incoming technical service support calls. Able to review scientific data and plan further experiments which will aid the Sales and Marketing groups.
• Make day to day decisions as to the scientific content of technical service laboratory activities.
• Participate in Sales and Marketing Meetings, Planning Meetings, and New Product Process.
• Occasionally travel and function in different cultural environments. Multi-lingual a plus but not necessary. Understand and collate scientific results with the other members of the technical service group including those in Tosoh, Japan, Tosoh Shanghai and Tosoh Bioscience GmbH.
• Working knowledge of the Tosoh Bioscience process products. Proficient at entering incoming technical service requests into the customer database.
• Primary contact is Technical Service Manager, several times a week if not daily. Also must be able to contact members of the Sales and Marketing groups, and Supply Chain Groups as needed. Familiarity with and good working relationships with key customer contacts as identified through technical service support line is necessary.
• Laboratory safety is a primary concern of all technical service personnel.

| Qualifications: | • Highly motivated and self-directed individual who can work independently in the laboratory and as a vital member of the technical service group of Tosoh Bioscience.
• Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent is required. Advanced degree is a plus.
• At least three to five years experience with downstream protein purification and protein purification method development in an industrial environment is required. Large scale protein purification is highly desirable.
• Excellent knowledge of GE Healthcare AKTA® equipment necessary.
• Excellent Communicative Skills (both verbal and written) and ability to function in multicultural environments.
• Must be willing to occasionally travel (<20%) domestically.
